EHS consultant

Responsibilities:

Serves as the primary point of contact and resource for facility environmental, health & safety issues
Ensure the impact of regulatory changes on the businesses are being managed at the facility
Gives the inputs to develop policies and implements policies and procedures to ensure the compliance of ISO 14001/TAPA standards, government legal requirements, customer requirements and Company expectations regarding EHS.
Monitors changes in local/country regulations and implements the necessary changes
Completes all necessary documents, records, and reports required
Follows up and raises the safety and environmental awareness of all employees by a compliance program (through a cooperation with other leaders)
Leads the site Safety Committee
Responsible for implementing and sustaining assigned EHS programs
Ensures completion of required employee environmental, safety and health training
Provides technical consultation regarding health and work safety issues to all employees
Participates in audits and inspections, assists in tracking corrective action plans Coordinates emergency response to prevent and reduce further damages
Provide assistance in the investigation of significant incidents (fire, chemical releases, fatalities, severe or multiple injuries, etc.) and follow-up on corrective actions
Ensure EHS risk analyses, evaluation of environmental aspects are performed and communicated
Provides EHS administration services to the company and to Authorities

Requirements:

At least College graduate (degrees in safety / environmental / management will be an asset)
Degree in Work Safety (technician or higher level) is required
A high degree of computer literacy - fluency in MS Office (word, excel, power point), Lotus Notes
Fluent in English
Knowledge of Hungarian Work Safety Law issues required
Good organizational skills, able to work under pressure
Ability to solve problems, analytical skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks and able to work unsupervised
Strong written and oral communication skills
Solid interpersonal skills
Focused on goals and the overall team and company objectives
Self-motivated and pro-active, can improvise and innovate
